ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7, episode 22 preview: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic meet Carly Rae Jepsen
Tonight, “Castle” took us deep into the skies with an episode entitled “In Plane Sight,” but for the next installment (and penultimate one of the season), the show is going in a different direction. Specifically, we’re diving into the complicated world of late-night sketch shows!
The writers are not exactly being subtle when it comes to next week’s “Dead from New York.” It is obviously an hour inspired by “Saturday Night Live” and a crazy fictional scenario: What happened if someone murdered Lorne Michaels? Their version of the prolific executive producer is dead, and it is up to Castle, Beckett, and the team to learn what happened. There’s a chance for some classic Nathan Fillion – Stana Katic fun in here, and we are also going to have to boot a performance from Carly Rae Jepsen! She will also have some lines in the episode, and maybe (at least briefly) be a suspect in the killing, based on the promo below. Yes, the show even found their own fake version of the late Don Pardo.
If you have not seen the synopsis for this installment yet, take a look at it below:
“When Sid Ross, the powerful creator of a long-running sketch comedy show is killed, Castle and Beckett are called to investigate. But as they delve into the victim’s life and the colorful world of “Saturday Night Tonight,” they uncover a shocking secret that may explain Sid’s murder. Carly Rae Jepsen is featured as a musical guest.”
This episode also features former “Family Matters” star Jaleel White, and looks to be all sorts of silly and fun. We know that there is something more serious coming in the finale, so just enjoy the fun here while it lasts.
