‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 spoilers: The immediate future for Fitz and Simmons

The past couple of weeks of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” have taken all of their characters down some strange and at-times dangerous directions, and we definitely feel this for Fitz and Simmons, albeit in slightly different ways. While Fitz has been called away to deal with matters pertaining to Coulson and his quest, Simmons has been given an extremely difficult challenge of her own: Trying to put on a good front for Mack, Bobbi, and the folks over at the Real SHIELD, who are trying to take back everything as their own.

Unfortunately for ‘shippers, Entertainment Weekly claims that these two are not going to be getting a lot of time coming up to spend with each other, which makes sense given the total number of priorities at the moment. Fitz will be interacting with some other characters soon, though, and we have to hope that the newly-emerged Deathlok is going to be somewhere high on the list. He remains Coulson’s ace in the hole, and he is coming home to roost (and hopefully help out with the situation).

So what about Simmons? As you would suspect, she has a mission of her own, but may soon question whether or not she made the right choice with the toolbox. She has much more of a political war coming in the near future to fight.

Regardless of what happens on Tuesday night’s new episode, we know already that this story is building to a mission that could force the two factions to actually work together in order to stop Hydra. Let’s hope that despite these tactics, they can learn to get along and handle each other.
