‘Supernatural’ season 10 spoilers: Misha Collins’ Castiel continues the search for Claire

Castiel -

Any time that we see the name Amelia in a synopsis for a “Supernatural” episode, we admit there is a part of us that viscerally snaps back to when Sam had that longtime love interest in season 8. It was one of the most polarizing stories in the history of the series, and there is probably a reason why we have not seen the character return ever since Sam decided to stay with Dean rather than meet up with her again.

Today, we’re talking for the second time this season about the other Amelia, who in many ways is the show’s original Amelia: Amelia Novak. She was a part of the story in the episode “The Things We Left Behind” earlier this season, as her daughter Claire returned and we heard a little more on her disappearance. This is going to continue in the upcoming April 29 episode entitled “Angel Heart,” which should be one of the bigger showcases for Misha Collins as Castiel this season. His guilt for what happened to this family has manifested itself for years, and this is a chance for further redemption.

Now, let’s get to sharing that synopsis we mentioned earlier:

“When Claire Novak (guest star Kathryn Love Newton) gets a lead on her mother, Amelia (guest star Leisha Hailey), who has been missing for years, Castiel (Misha Collins) asks Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) to help her. Castiel feels guilty for what he did to the Novak family and wants to make amends by reuniting Claire with her mom. However, when they find out what took Amelia, they realize there is a chance Claire may not get her happy ending.”

Is it too much to give Cas a happy ending here? We’ll have to see, but we feel like this is a metaphorical ghost who at this point should start to disintegrate.
