‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Stephen Amell teases Olicity, more crossovers, Oliver smiling more

Arrow -This was quite a weekend in terms of comic conventions! While we were at WonderCon in Anaheim, Fan Expo was taking place in Vancouver. This is where “Arrow” films new episodes, so it was easy for Stephen Amell to come over and do a panel answering fan questions.

Of course, the show’s star could not drop any major “Arrow” spoilers on the crowd, so he did not comment on if Olicity will be together (save for more confirmation that big moments are ahead), or who the big bad for the fourth season will be (though he admitted he did know). However, Amell did still drop a variety of other welcome teasers on what has been so far a very dark season.

1. The flashbacks to Hong Kong are going to get far worse for Oliver before they get better. He has only been in the country for less than a season now, and we are going to have an opportunity to see more parts of his training that we have not seen already.

2. It’s going to be hard to see much of the original Team Arrow in action now, mostly because it has expanded and evolved in so many ways. On a similar note, he said that there will be no costume this year for David Ramsey.

3. Amell likes doing crossovers, mostly because Oliver gets to smile more in Central City (though he said that there may be more of his character smiling in general moving forward). There is at least a small crossover with “The Flash” this season, and there will be even more connectivity both with this show and the still-untitled spin-off moving into next season.

4. Stephen is filming “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2” (where he is playing Casey Jones) over the summer, and may at times alternate between this and “Arrow” in the early fall.

5. One of the most painful stunts Amell has seen on the show will happen at the end of the next new episode, and it will involve a female character.
