‘Community’ season 6: Dan Harmon coy on movie possibilities
Six seasons and a movie? It is definitely possible. As a matter of fact, it appears that someone has whispered something into “Community” creator Dan Harmon’s ear about it.
Speaking (per Deadline) while at the Content Industry Connect LA conference, Harmon made it clear that he has “been told not to talk about [a movie],” and he referred to that as an “exciting answer.” He conceded that this is “not just something that’s been made up and floated out there,” which should be a sign of great hope for most fans. Given that the show is already in its sixth season, it is just about at the point now of fulfilling its ultimate prophecy.
Now that we’ve said that, we do have to add here that regardless of it is being made by Yahoo Screen (who currently airs the show) or someone else, this movie will most likely occur. This is the age of crowdfunding! If “Super Troopers” was able to fund a sequel on Indiegogo in just a single day’s time (and with a $2 million budget), we are pretty darn sure that consumers would pay to get a feature-length story of Jeff Winger and the rest of the Greendale gang.
For the time being, though, our advice is simple: Put this on the back burner for a while. You don’t want to forget about it, but you also have to remember very much that there are a variety of other things currently happening, and the show is still on the air. Wait until after the finale to start the questions.
