‘Madam Secretary’ episode 17 preview: Tea Leoni, Bob Schieffer discuss ‘Face the Nation’
Sunday night’s new episode of “Madam Secretary” is going to be an enormous one, and there are a variety of different reasons for that. For one, it marks a chance for Elizabeth to unravel to a certain extent; while we are not necessarily saying that we want to see that, it is a great chance for Tea Leoni to tackle something particularly meaty. Her character is very competent within her career, and with that, she has been able to tackle many problems with strength and focus. Unfortunately, now things are starting to become more difficult. There are many questions coming from the American people in regards to Iraq, and to add to this, there is also an appearance on “Face the Nation.”
Let’s just say this: There is a reason that the show is entitled this. Bob Schieffer is going to appear as himself in the hour, and it is framed almost entirely around Elizabeth’s appearance on the show as the tough questions are asked.
In the video below, both Leoni and Schieffer discuss this story, with Leoni saying that there was initial nervousness in getting him aboard. They had discussed the possibility of this appearance for a while, but there was never a guarantee that it was going to happen. Schieffer also joked that Elizabeth was so honest in her interview that he wished that many real-life politicians acted the same way.
Given how excited he seems to be to have really come out of his shell and done something different in this episode, it really makes it that much easier to be interested in what happens.
