‘Shameless’ season 5, episode 9 preview: New Emmy Rossum, William H. Macy-led videos

We are starting to near the home stretch for “Shameless” season 5.  There are only four episodes left, and there is a heck of a lot of ground to cover. Fiona has to figure out what he wants out of his life, Ian has to learn the real rules of the road in regards to his own survival, and Carl … well, he just has to hope that he stays out of prison. All of these individual items are discussed at length in our latest sneak-peek preview for Sunday night’s new episode, which teach you a thing or two about what is going on.

1. Frank as … comfort? – If you end up having a conversation with Frank Gallagher at a bar, it is probably far to wonder just where your life has gone? This is not really a man you want to be seen next to most of the time. However, he may have some words of wisdom here for a doctor who has just realized that despite all of her training in how to help others, she is not able to help herself when faced with a diagnosis.

2. Carl is coached – “Gallaghers don’t snitch.” This is something that Fiona said in a discussion with Carl and his lawyer, who are trying to figure out how in the world the kid is going to be able to get out of this situation without much in the way of jail time. Unfortunately for Emmy Rossum’s character, this may not be someone she can really help. Carl doesn’t seem altogether concerned with going to jail; heck, he even seems to be embracing the idea of getting away from school for a little while.
