‘Hart of Dixie’ season 4: Jaime King suggests further show’s cancellation

What is she up to? -Even though “Hart of Dixie” may still not be officially canceled, you may as well put a fork into it at this point. Clearly the actors and producers have been told the series is over; otherwise, why act in the way that they are now?

We already reported yesterday that Scott Porter posted and later deleted a statement making it clear that the show is over after four seasons, and a new post on his co-star Jaime King’s Instagram makes the show’s fate even clearer. You can read the full message that she attached to the image below at her page; the following is just a small sample of everything that she said:

“From Lemons first entrance, to the last 2 final series episodes, I shall take my final bow. Farewell, my beloved Bluebell. It has been the best 4 years of my life, giving my heart and soul to this role & to our dear fans of Hart of Dixie.”

This is a really sweet message, and it shows if nothing else how grateful that she really is to have worked on the show over the past four years. This is a good run for any show on TV these days, and while it may be sad to see the show go, it has nothing to feel bad about. It got to tell the story it wanted to tell, and creator Leila Gerstein prepared for this finale as though it would be the last one of the series.

We feel like the reason the cast is becoming so open about the show ending is because they don’t want to give the audience any false hope. We appreciate that, and we wish the network would do the same thing at this point.

We will try to offer something further in the event that things change, but for now, it doesn’t appear too likely. You can sign up for now if you want to have some other TV news sent to you via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: The CW.)
