‘Scream Queens’ spoilers: ‘Saturday Night Live’ alum joins Lea Michele, Emma Roberts
Ryan Murphy’s upcoming horror-comedy “Scream Queens” has added yet another new face, and this one is proof that one show’s loss is often another show’s gain.
As first reported now by Deadline, Nasim Pedrad of “Saturday Night Live” (and more recently “Mulaney”) has signed up to appear on the series. There’s no word on her role yet, but she joins an extremely impressive cast including Lea Michele, Emma Roberts, Keke Palmer, Abigail Breslin, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Joe Manganiello. We’re also going to see Ariana Grande stop by in a recurring role. This cast is further proof that Murphy has the best connections and casting workers in the business; after all, he also recently snagged Lady Gaga for the next “American Horror Story.”
This show is still a little ways out, but you can watch the first teaser for it here. We know that the setting will be around a sorority in college, and a series of murders that are taking place there. While this is not exactly the most creative twist in the history of mankind, there may be enough humor and horror in here to still spice it up.
At the moment, we feel pretty confident that this will be a pretty big hit for Fox, who seems to thrive off of edgier programming. “Empire” is also something very different than the rest of network TV, and it has surpassed “The Big Bang Theory” as the highest-rated scripted show out there, save for “The Walking Dead.”
We’re sure that we will have some more news on the show’s premiere soon, so be on the lookout.
