‘House of Lies’ season 4, episode 7 preview: Could Jeannie buy out Marty Kaan?

For most of season 4 of “House of Lies,” one thing that we’ve seen from Marty Kaan is insistence upon Jeannie leaving the firm. After everything that they’ve been through, he doesn’t want to work with her anymore. He doesn’t trust her. The fact that she is pregnant with his child really does not change much of anything to him.

However, there is a problem with this man that we really had not considered until after watching the new sneak peek below for Sunday night’s new episode: It is not exactly like we are dealing with a man here who has a whole lot of legal ground to stand on. Marty is instead going to be someone who has to ultimately figure out for himself whether or not he can work with her, because the only other option may be Kristen Bell’s character actually buying him out. As she points out, she has 51% stake in everything at the moment. Not only that, but he is a convicted felon. It’s hard to have a leg to stand on with that in mind.

Ultimately, we do think that Marty will figure this out. We really want for him to. We were hoping that getting in better touch with Roscoe would help him to see the sensitivity of things with Jeannie, but that hasn’t happened yet. Maybe there needs to be at least one more big move that takes place in order for him to truly see the light, and understand what it is that he needs to do.
