ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: Watch out for Ryan’s other job

While Ryan may be a great detective on “Castle,” the character has been earning a little bit of extra cash on the side with a security gig. To date, these two worlds have not collided that much, but based on what we are hearing at this very moment, that may change in a big way for an upcoming episode.

Want to know more? Well, why not leave it to showrunner David Amann to share? Speaking as a part of a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, he explained that Seamus Dever will be front and center for what is one of the more intense episodes we see in the later part of this season:

“We have a Ryan-centric episode coming up that’s a dramatic episode … He’s been moonlighting working security and he’s protecting an important person. Something goes horribly awry while he’s doing it, and he gets embroiled in trying to find out what exactly happened.”

We are certainly thrilled about there being a little bit more of Ryan featured on the show. As a matter of fact, it feels almost like he has been one of the most under-represented people on the show this season. He had some great stuff during the sixth season in particular, and whenever he has turned up this time, he’s brought that right blend of humor and solid police-work.

The next new episode of “Castle” is entitled “The Wrong Stuff,” and it is going to air come Monday night. After that, the show will go on a brief hiatus until after this season of “The Bachelor” comes to an end.
