ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7: Stana Katic Alternative Travel Project, auction, more on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

While you are waiting for some more episodes of “Castle” to come on the air, why not take a minute to see what Stana Katic is up to away from the camera? The actress behind Kate Beckett is working on a new initiative in the Alternative Travel Project, which is encouraging people to go car-free in an effort to better preserve the environment. Given that she films in Los Angeles, this really is the right sort of place to spread that message around a little bit. It’s shocking that there are people in the city who remain utterly clueless to the fact that there is a subway system. (Personally, we’re an advocate of mass expansion for it, but there are a whole lot of politics involved there and we’re not really that sort of site.)

In promoting the initiative, Katic appeared earlier this week on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to talk about the message, and an auction you can see here that features a variety of different items. Not only can you bid on a meet-and-greet with her, but there are also some other fun items including a signed press pass, a chance to hang out with other cast members, and the shirt that Nathan Fillion famously cut for her the day of her audition. (Stana tells that story further below, if you haven’t heard it.)

While Katic’s character was in peril at times during the big two-part episode of “Castle” that concluded Monday, she’s turned out to be all right. In other words, expect to see a whole lot more of her the rest of the season. Monday night’s new episode should be a return to some of the fun you have come to expect from the show.
