‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8, episode 15 video: Sheldon antics and nothing else

There is a new episode of “The Big Bang Theory” on Thursday night entitled “The Comic Book Store Regeneration,” but unfortunately, CBS is not exactly doing a wonderful job informing us about what we are going to see in this episode in terms of promo videos.

Instead, the one below is about a pair of Sheldon gags. One of these gets Amy extremely excited, while the other one has Penny very clearly annoyed. There’s nothing in here substantial or revolutionary … which is interesting in its own way, given what we know to be coming in this episode. On the funny side, we have the arrival of Nathan Fillion as himself, and we’re surprised that CBS is not promoting that more, given his statuses as one of the kings of geek culture.

Then, you have whatever happens to Howard’s mom, and this may be a difficult subject for CBS still to tackle. If the show is going to kill off the Debbie character to coincide with Carol Ann Susi’s passing, you want to do so in a respectful, honorable way. There may be something about promoting that story that feels unseemly, and we suppose that we would understand that.

The one suggestion that we can make for you here is that you watch this episode live. Whatever happens here is surely to resonate more, whether it be in terms of comedy or emotional moments, if you do not know that it is coming. There are few sitcoms in the modern era that have the potential to convey this broad spectrum of emotions, but the show may have this Thursday night. Howard has always been a lovable character despite his flaws; the episode regarding his father and the letter was heartbreaking in its own right.
