‘Nashville’ season 3 spoilers: Christina Aguilera comes over from ‘The Voice’ for arc
“Nashville” seems to do a great job continuing to book guest stars. First, they had Derek Hough playing the part of a prominently movie star in the industry. Now, they have signed up a major pop star to play one on the show.
According to a new report from People Magazine, hitmaker and “The Voice” star Christina Aguilera has signed up to appear in multiple episodes of the ABC musical drama in the role of Jade St. John. She is an immensely successful pop star, but someone interested in trying out country music for a change. Therefore, she may get a chance to do that during a two-night performance stint in the city.
Christina has done some acting in the past, so we’re not altogether concerned about her ability to get some great work done on this series. Why would be worried about her? She has a history of great performances, and “Nashville” should benefit a little from her star power. Despite having a loyal following, it still feels like this show can use a little bit of an added ratings boost. Getting stars helps to create headlines like this one.
The new season of “The Voice” is set to premiere a week from Monday on NBC. This is the first season featuring Aguilera since the fall of 2013. She welcomed a child last year, and with that, she took a little bit of a break while Gwen Stefani filled in for her as judge. The last time that she was on a season airing in the winter / spring was all the way back in season 2.
