‘Chicago Fire’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Rush,’ ‘Motive’ alum could be new regular
“Chicago Fire” lost a series regular at the start of the season in Lauren German, and while they have not added a new official regular since, that could be changing at some point in the reasonably near future.
According to a new report coming in right now from Deadline, Warren Christie (“Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce,” “Rush,” “Motive”) has been tapped to recur throughout some upcoming season 3 episodes in the role of a new firefighter at the house, and one who has ties to Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney). The two were apparently childhood friends, and this serves as a reunion of sorts.
This role could potentially expand to a regular spot in the fourth season, thought that is not officially confirmed just yet. Many of those things do end up depending on what the particular audience in questions thinks about the role. There is never that big of a hurry to sign someone officially without giving them a little bit of a trial run first.
“Chicago Fire” has definitely not shied away from telling some difficult stories at times this season. They started the season with the death of Shay, and since that time, they’ve featured her death investigation, Severide’s descent into darkness, and just earlier this week the death of Boden’s father. Sooner or later, we do hope that there is a story implemented that at least could make a few people out there want to smile.
We’ll have some further news on the series as it starts to come out.
