‘Survivor: Worlds Apart’ castaway spotlight: Will Tyler Fredrickson split the uprights?
Someone call Grant Mattos: We have another one-time NFL player on “Survivor“! The difference here is that Grant did have more professional experience than Tyler Fredrickson, who played in some preseason NFL games as a kicker before playing a little in the Arena Football League.
We suppose that Tyler is not so much focused on his pas, though; after all, this guy has so much else going on he may be trying to compete for Most Interesting Man in the World (or at least on “Survivor: Worlds Apart”).. He’s shifted more to show business, has worked for CAA (an enormous talent agency), and is very much involved in the world of writing / producing. He’ll probably have great stories to tell out there in the game, and we also happen to think right now that he is going to do very well in this game.
Name – Tyler Fredrickson
Age – 33
Occupation – Ex-talent agent assistant
Location – Los Angeles, California
Occupation – Masaya a.k.a. White Collar
Strengths – We almost wonder if the glasses he brought were intentional to try to disarm people, because it works. He doesn’t look on the surface like an extremely athletic guy, but he probably is growing up in a sports environment. He’s also clearly driven, wants to play this game hard, and from being in show business, he may be able to utilize that knowledge to handle the TV aspect of “Survivor” well. He is bringing a heck of a lot to the table.
Weaknesses – Tyler has to be careful with how much of himself he really gives away in a sense. People are going to know that he is a major threat at some point this season, and he will have to be a step ahead of them to work his way out of that.
Past “Survivor” comparison – We’re going to see Aras Baskauskas and Josh Canfield from last season rolled into one. He has a similar sort of demeanor, and while he may not be the most obvious physical threat, he definitely is still a big one to watch out for.
Prediction – What Tyler needs to do is get someone around him who is just as big a target as him, which is what Aras had on “Survivor: Exile Island” in Terry or even what Tony Vlachos did with Spencer. We have a hard time seeing him out pre-merge, and we really think that he can win this game so long as he doesn’t get too comfortable out there.
