‘Top Chef: Boston’ finale: All about team Gregory Gourdet
Will Gregory Gourdet get by with a little help from his friends on the finale for “Top Chef” Wednesday night? That is at least a reasonable possibility, given that he probably needs them to execute his entire vision.
First and foremost, we have to say here that Gregory has what may be a dream team given all the proteins that he is working with. George has already shown himself to be all kinds of formidable on the show this season, and he knows how to prepare octopus very well, even if he did mess up on the char of it. Meanwhile, Doug is a beast who was one challenge away from the finale, and he’s from Texas. In other words, the man knows how to definitively use a grill.
The thing that we may be the most impressed with at the moment when it comes to Gregory is just his menu. After all, we were previously somewhat critical of his continued reliance on familiar ingredients like curries and coconuts. This man is clearly starting to mix it up and be a little inventive now, and we could not be happier about it. We love the implementation of the cacti and the green chorizo. He is using local ingredients, but adding his flair to it.
Now, we just have to see what his competitor Mei Lin brings to the table, but we know that she is certainly more than effective in the kitchen.
