‘The Celebrity Apprentice’: Donald Trump says NBC wants three more seasons
Could this be the greatest news that we’ve heard all week? It’s possible.
Speaking to “Access Hollywood” in a recent interview, Donald Trump claims that while there is no official word yet on another season of “The Celebrity Apprentice,” there are talks about doing three more seasons of the show. If this news is announced within a week’s team, we may pass out with excitement. This show is incredibly ridiculous, but at the same time, probably the most entertaining competition out there from start to finish. Having more seasons ensures that you get more of that craziness, and for NBC, doing another season in this format would make sense as a sort of bridge between one season of “The Voice” and the next. This worked very well this year, so why would you want to change it?
Of course, Trump has been known from time to time to exaggerate a few points about his show, so we’ll wait to see what NBC does before getting ourselves too excited. Even if it is not a three-year renewal (which we do think is unlikely), it is almost assured in our head that the show will come back. It has far exceeded expectations for it, and competed pretty well against “The Bachelor” on Monday nights. We were worried going into this that the two would split an audience, but that has not really happened.
With these better ratings, producers and casting will now most likely be able to find a much better crop of celebrities than they were this year, and we have to say that overall, the lineup this time was not that bad. At least you had people from all walks of life.
Just please: Don’t do another All-Star season. While Gary Busey and the mechanical dog was gold, it felt like a long, predictable slog to Trace Adkins winning.
