‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ revives ‘Saved by the Bell,’ takes over the internet
While it may have been a brief reunion, we imagine that what happened on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Wednesday night was somehow still enough to melt the hearts of millions of “Saved by the Bell” fans all over the world.
With the show in Los Angeles this week, Fallon manages to convince Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen, Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley and Dennis Haskins to all come back together in the roles that they made famous on the legendary teen series. Obviously, this isn’t everyone that was a part of the cast, but we cannot really say that we’re too surprised about that. (That Lifetime movie probably keeps that from ever happening.)
Ultimately, we have to say that we laughed early and often throughout this, and we never really had a huge case of “Saved by the Bell” fever. It was mostly because the actors were all game to make fun at their careers since the end of the show. For example, Lopez skewered his time on “Dancing with the Stars,” while there were some subtle jabs at Berkley’s decision to be a part of “Dreamgirls,” a movie that still lives in infamy.
Ultimately, we just feel like this was a nice thing for this cast to do for some of their longtime fans, and the screams of the audience made it very clear just how much people really loved seeing Zack Morris and company together again.
Now, we have to wonder just who the show is going to start to reunite next!
