‘Person of Interest’ season 4, episode 14 preview: The worst sort of jury duty
We tend to really enjoy “Person of Interest” episodes that start small, and then expand outward to prove that there may be so much more going on than what is first apparent. This appears to be the way in which next week’s new episode “Guilty” is constructed. On the surface, it may look as though we have a case that is all about Finch taking part in jury duty for a trial. However, it becomes clear that there is a specific reason why the Machine wanted him to serve. Someone will try to kill in order to ensure that the trial has its desired end, and he has to figure out a way in which to stop it.
The new promo below via CBS makes a good bit of what to expect clear, as done the synopsis:
“When the Machine arranges for Finch to sit on the jury of a murder trial, he begins to suspect that a fellow juror is set to rig the proceedings. Meanwhile, Reese begins to open up to the department’s therapist.”
While there does not appear to be anything that ties this particular story into others in a substantial way, we’re okay with that for the time being and with the show getting some momentum going again. It does still feel like we are reeling from what happened to Shaw, and that is made even crazier thanks to us not really knowing if this is a character that will ever return. Sure, she was proven to be alive, but that is only part of the equation.
