‘Better Call Saul’ video: Bob Odenkirk, Vince Gilligan take you behind the scenes
A week from Sunday is going to be one of the biggest days in the history of AMC. Not only is the network kicking off the second half of “The Walking Dead” season 5, but they will also be premiering their much-anticipated series “Better Call Saul.” This show has the immediate potential to become the most-watched series premiere in the history of the network. “The Walking Dead” did not always have the ratings that it has today, and there is a chance for this show to shatter that.
For the time being, though, why don’t we just bring you a fun new video? In this one, you can see series star Bob Odenkirk chat alongside executive producers Peter Gould, Melissa Bernstein, and Vince Gilligan about the story, and also why they decided to make this show in the first place. For Odenkirk, it was all about getting to play this character and be with the same creative people all over again.
As we get closer and closer to the premiere, buzz is starting to build that maybe this show is what we expected it to be and then some. We have been mostly worried since the beginning that the expectations would be simply too high for any series to match what they did with “Breaking Bad”, but so far it feels almost like Gilligan and company are actually pulling this off.
With all of this being said, we do hope that there is some more back story as to what happened to Saul after he took off near the end of “Breaking Bad.” Did he really go and manage that Cinnabon?
