‘The Walking Dead’ season 5, episode 9: Prepare for show’s return with AMC marathon
Let’s face it: There is not a whole lot going on when it comes to new programming on Super Bowl Sunday. Unless you like football, “Downton Abbey,” or are a subscriber to Showtime, you are basically out of luck.
With that being said, AMC is offering up what we feel is a pretty cool opportunity on Sunday night to go back and watch some old episodes of “The Walking Dead” courtesy of a marathon of the show’s first two seasons. Obviously, this will probably not be useful to everyone out there, given that the show is on Netflix, on DVD, and on a variety of other services. Also, the network runs so many marathons for this show that there are almost always opportunities for fans (or potential new fans) to check out the show in one form or another.
In the end though, we still understand why the network does it, and these marathons typically do still bring in decent ratings. We’d ultimately describe it as a move worth making, especially since the show will return next Sunday with new episodes. From there, it will air for eight consecutive weeks until we make it to the big finale for season 5.
Don’t forget that next weekend is an extra-special one for AMC, given that you are also going to get a chance to see “Better Call Saul” premiere right after the zombie drama. Following the premiere on Sunday night it will then air another episode on Monday night at 10:00 p.m. Eastern, so it is going to be giving you a double dose.
