‘Puppy Bowl XI’ review: Puppies, Katty Furry and kitty half time show
“Animal Planet” may not be a network that is always in the limelight for their programming, but on Super Bowl Sunday they get quite a bit of attention – and deservedly so. If you have no interest in watching Super Bowl XLIX this year, then for the most part you are out of luck when it comes to alternative programming, but Animal Planet has come up with a very cute alternative: The Puppy Bowl XI.
If you are new to the Puppy Bowl, let us give you some highlights: There are some very cute puppies that will be doing whatever they can to get their toy into the end zone, you will have a pretty fun kitty half time show that features adorable kittens playing on a cat condo (as well as a special guest performance from Katty Furry) and there will be animal cheerleaders on the sidelines giving their support to the teams of puppies out there trying to win the game.
Some of the puppy stars of this game were: Chicklet, Bryan Adams, Marley, Titan, Bubba, Papi, Cara, Falcor and our personal favorite Miss Martian. What we love about this show is that these puppies are all up for adoption and there have been swarms of people trying to adopt these little cuties every year!
We also had the kitty half time show and they had a very special guest again this year (last year we had keyboard cat!). Katty Furry! This was a great play on the fact that Katy Perry is the halftime show performer for Super Bowl XLIX this year and we loved it. Katty Furry had her blue hair, a dress made of peppermint swirled candy and performed “Roar”. And by performed we mean sat on the platform and looked very unhappy about the whole situation.
