‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ review: Did NeNe Leakes, Cynthia Bailey patch things up?
Sunday night’s new episode of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” was for many people, about healing … or at least trying to heal. We had a chance to really see plenty of people try to “talk things out,” but we’re concerned about whether or not any of it will stick.
For example, just take a look at NeNe Leakes and Cynthia Bailey, who decided to have a sit-down meeting … with each one of them flanked by Porsha Williams and Kenya Moore. At times, there were a few moments where it seemed as though things were going to be getting better. Then, Porsha started getting upset at Kenya while she was having a conversation with Cynthia, and it was clear that parts of this idea were far from great (we’re still concerned that the hug at the end was short-lived). Maybe NeNe and Cynthia made some progress, but time will tell.
Our favorite story right now might be with Claudia Jordan, mostly because of the fact that she is staying away from some of the petty drama, and she provides a nice lens of Atlanta through the eyes of a newcomer. For those who are watching the show for the first time, this is really a nice chance to take a look at everything with a fresh vision and no heavy history with the ladies.
Elsewhere in the episode, Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker continue to fight over whether or not they should spend the holidays with their mothers, while Phaedra Parks wonders where in the world Apollo was.
While this wasn’t the best episode of the season, maybe some of the olive branches will last … but who are we kidding? They probably won’t. Grade: B-.
