‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Christmas Special: Louis Smith, Aliona Vilani declared champions
On Christmas Day, it is a tradition across the pond in the United Kingdom for networks like the BBC to air specials throughout the day.
Therefore, the network brought us on Thursday the Christmas Special for “Strictly Come Dancing,” and they did their part to make it into a more-than-lively affair. Given that this is not a full-fledged competition throughout the fall, the producers make into more of an all-star affair to feature some familiar faces doing some routines in the holiday spirit.
So who were declared the champs? It is none other than Louis Smith alongside pro Aliona Vilani. They had the victory, and it is ultimately a rather-nice Christmas gift for them.
Ultimately, this is not going to be the sort of special that sticks with you for a long time, and we are more than fine with that. Why is that? The focus here is ultimately just to have a good time enjoying the show, and we certainly did that and then some.
As for when you can see the next new season of the show premiere, think along the lines of next fall. While Len Goodman is looking to step down from his position as head judge over on “Dancing with the Stars,” it seems as though he will be staying put over on this show.
While we will have to wait until later in the week to know the ratings for this show, we still feel like it will celebrate those, as well. This is one of Britain’s most-watched shows, after all.
