‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Expect more of Colton Haynes’ Roy Harper
Fans of “Arrow” saw a chance for many characters to be in the spotlight during the first half of season 3, but one that was occasionally left out was Roy Harper. He had a pretty good story in “Guilty,” but since that point, he has been mostly quiet. This is a shame, since we are liking the character more and more now that we are getting out of the shadow of what happened with him and Thea.
With Oliver Queen seemingly out of the picture for a little while, something that you can almost definitely expect to see now is more of Roy being gung-ho, and doing what he can to help lead Team Arrow. Just take a look at what executive producer Marc Guggenheim had to say in a chat with Entertainment Weekly:
“One of the things I was very straight with Colton [Haynes] about is I don’t think we serviced his character quite as much as we would have liked in the first half of the season … I’ll say the stuff that he’s got in episodes 10, 11, and 12, it’s pretty dang gangbusters. There’s one scene in episode 11 between him and John Barrowman that I think is some of his finest work on the show.”
Ultimately, we do think that Roy is going to have the pressure of being the real hero of Starling City for the time being. Diggle doesn’t have the fancy costume, and while we know that we are going to be seeing Laurel in the Black Canary costume, that does not mean that she is going to be very good at fighting crime.
