‘The Bachelor’ spotlight: Will Becca Tilley, Chris Soules be a good match?

Becca -Becca Tilley is an interesting contestant on “The Bachelor” to highlight, mostly because we may be having a harder time getting a read on her than almost anyone else this season. There are many things about her that suggest she could go a long ways this season, but also a few that make us wonder if she will be an extremely early departure that nobody is going to remember.

There are no spoilers in this article, so don’t worry about that. All of the information that we have here comes courtesy of ABC’s bio page, and whatever we could uncover over the internet.

Age – 26

Hometown – Shreveport, Louisiana. She now lives in San Diego, but at least she has a background in a place that is not necessarily a sprawling metropolis. We imagine that a moderately-sized town like Shreveport is closer to Chris’ lifestyle than a beach city.

Occupation – Chiropractic assistant. We tried for about ten minutes to come up with something clever here for the title, but the only thing we could think of Alan Harper from “Two and a Half Men.” No contestant deserves that comparison.

On a different note, this is at least a job that she could do almost anywhere. That’s good if she ends up relocating.

Bio highlights – There’s not a lot to go on. We learn that she loves dolphins and can be a little awkward, but for the most part, what surprises us here is most how she seems for the most part to be very normal. That’s strangely not a quality you see on the show all the time.

Positives – She comes across as very down-to-earth, has a normal job that doesn’t signal that she wants fame, and doesn’t have any major red flags online. She and Chris can probably connect on a number of different levels; based on her Twitter, she seems very in touch with herself and knows who she is.

Negatives – The biggest thing is that unless she makes a good first impression, Becca could be very forgettable and get eliminated early. She is not going to have a dramatic limo introduction, and may not be the most outgoing person. We also don’t know if she would really want to leave the beach for an Iowa farm.

Prediction – It feels like producers cast Becca thinking that she could be one of the real candidates to be engaged to Chris at the end, and we’re going to say that either she gets a hometown date and possibly an engagement ring, or she’s gone the first episode or two. Once he gets some time with her, we cannot seem them failing to make a connection.
