‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7, episode 12 video: Katey Sagal’s Gemma in the ultimate bind

Tomorrow night on FX, “Sons of Anarchy” gets closer than ever before to settling the score with “Red Rose,” and this has the potential to easily be one of the most-shocking episodes of the entire series. Also, it has the weight of having to set the stage for what will be one of the most-anticipated series finales in TV history.

Right now, the question that we find ourselves wondering is ultimately rather simple: Is Gemma going to survive this episode? She now knows that Jax is onto her, and there is very little left for her to do other than run, and as far away as possible. We saw her hit the road at the end of “Suits of Woe,” but for some reason, we have a hard time imagining her running far. Charming has almost a magnetic effect upon its residents. No matter how far they may attempt to get away from the place, they somehow always tend to find their way back.

Personally, we feel like it would be a shame to lose Katey Sagal in this episode, since her presence is so huge on the show and she will make the series finale all the more exciting. What we really want to see from her here is one final play, one last big move to try to protect herself that is more desperate and dangerous than anything ever before. We wouldn’t even be upset if it meant the loss of another character. Anything to raise the stakes.

While there is not a Jax – Gemma showdown in the promo, we have to think that it is coming … and there will be fireworks during and after it like no other. There are no roses in this world anymore, only thorns.
