ABC’s ‘Resurrection’ season 2, episode 8 preview: Michelle Fairley and a showdown
To think, it was only a season ago when the entire first season of “Resurrection” on ABC lasted for eight episodes. Now, we are at the same point in season 2, but there are still a few more stories to tell afterward.
The focus on Sunday night’s new episode appears to be first and foremost conflict, and whether or not Fred, Bellamy, or anyone else in Arcadia can calm down the turning tide against the Returned. The majority of these people are not out to cause any harm at all; instead, they are confused, and are just trying if at all possible to continue to go about their lives.
With that being said, there is still someone sinister in the mix here in Margaret Langston (Michelle Fairley), and who knows what she is capable of? This is what we are at present waiting to discover.
The real concern that any diehard viewer of this show should have right now is over whether or not anyone is really going to be watching. Just think about that for a minute here. The last time the show was on was well over two weeks ago, given that there was a two-hour “Once Upon a Time” episode and then the American Music Awards. More often than not, evidence tends to point towards shows losing a little bit of steam after they’ve been off the air.
Already, the future of the franchise does look bleak. Ratings are down dramatically this year versus season 1, and the order has been cropped to just 13 episodes. Let’s just hope that the writers had time to put together a decent ending for the arc then.
