‘Jane the Virgin’ episode 8 preview: Latin star Juanes comes on board

Do you want to see some further evidence of the effort that The CW is putting into “Jane the Virgin”? Well, next week’s new episode is going to feature an appearance from none other than Latin music superstar Juanes. We’re honestly a little surprised that the show managed to snag him, and the only reason that we can think of is that this is a real opportunity for him to appeal to more of a crossover audience beyond just the Latin community.

This episode is also going to have a story that goes beyond what is happening with Xo and the singer. After all, Jane and Rafael are going to have quite a bit of information to share with each other. Just take a look at the attached synopsis:

“Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) both reveal shocking secrets to each other. Xo (Andrea Navedo) is excited when a music producer, Elliot (Juanes), contacts her to record a demo, but little does she know that Rogelio (Jaime Camil) had a hand in making it happen. Meanwhile, Michael (Brett Dier) is close to a big break in his case, and Petra (Yael Grobglas) finds new was to make Rafael’s life difficult.”

Based on the promo below, Jane’s “shocking secret” is going to be telling the truth about her being a virgin, and this is almost surely going to be a hot topic and something she has to work with, especially given someone else’s status as a “player.”

Given that this episode is still a ways away from airing, we’ll probably have more news before it airs.
