‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 spoilers: One memorable (and surprising) set is returning
Well, we can chalk this one up under “things we did not see coming.”
The fifth season of “Game of Thrones” has spent much of the past five or so months in production, and as per usual, there is enough traveling around to give some of the cast and crew members jet-lagged for months. While the majority of the sets may be returning to are in Northern Ireland, there are exterior locations still in Spain, Croatia, and elsewhere. We know that there was at least some footage filmed in Iceland this year, though it is not clear if any cast members were present there or not.
One other thing that we know at the moment is very simple: You are going to see more of Littlefinger’s famed brothel. This is one that surprises us somewhat, given that this is in King’s Landing, and without either Littlefinger or the Red Viper around, what is the point? Does HBO want to make sure that they meet their quota of people with their clothes off or something?
This news was confirmed in the latest edition of the Making of Game of Thrones blog, where Dave Hill shared the following (and rather humorous) message on the subject:
“Day 61: Today we are shooting at our faithful brothel. Set discussions involve how many “naughties” should be arrayed across a couch versus how many on the floor. And whether we shouldn’t see some period-appropriate prophylactics on hand (in a manner of speaking). Namely, sheep bladders or sheepskin sheaths. Sadly, our props department doesn’t keep any of those in stock. Seriously… we asked.”
We suppose that we will find out soon enough, as the latest season of “Game of Thrones” will start airing again come late March / early April. There are many more updates still to come before that time, and hopefully, they will include an opportunity to see a new trailer or two.
