‘The Flash’ spoilers: Grant Gustin on Barry’s ‘affliction’ in ‘Flash’ crossover
A big screening event was held recently for the upcoming crossover between “Arrow” and “The Flash,” and the great news that we have for you today is this: If you love these characters, you’re going to absolutely love what the producers have in store for you moving forward.
The first super-significant thing about this crossover that should be teased is that you’re going to be seeing probably the closest thing to an evil Barry Allen that you are ever going to get with this show. As star Grant Gustin teases to The Hollywood Reporter, a powerful meta-human does some pretty terrible things to him:
“[The meta-human] gets in Barry’s head, and he gets whammied. Barry’s not himself in The Flash vs. Arrow. It was really fun; I got to play a different character, essentially, who was losing his mind. Some truths come to the surface that wouldn’t have otherwise, because Barry’s been brainwashed, and that’s the reason the fight ensues.”
There is also apparently a huge surprise coming for “Arrow” through this special, but what makes it particularly interesting is that it may be something we learn as viewers, but Oliver does not have any knowledge of at all. What could it be? Given that we’re going to be heading to Central City, and this may be a hanging chad for a while, our theory ties back to a one-episode story last season that completely surprised many diehard fans of the show.
“Flash vs. Arrow” will air on Tuesday, December 2, with the “Arrow” part entitled “The Brave and the Bold” coming the next day.
