‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ preview: Kandi Burruss, Mama Joyce, and a new can of worms
Is Mama Joyce the most notable mom on the entire “Real Housewives” franchise? It definitely feels like we spend more time talking about her than almost anyone else on the show, and she’s not even a regular!
The sneak peek for Sunday night’s new “Real Housewives of Atlanta” episode features Joyce in a heated discussion with her new husband Todd Tucker, who questions whether or not it was a good idea for Kandi to make this move. She comments that as frugal as she often tries to be, he is even more.
We actually think that Todd has a real point here when it comes to Mama Joyce: Is she ever going to be happy? The majority of the time we’ve seen her, she has been very upset or very frustrated about something, and it makes us feel like Kandi is just going to spend the majority of her time trying to please this woman … and it may not yield the results that she wants. As a matter of fact, we almost ensure that it won’t.
Still, we’re just an outside observer to a reality TV show. We see the picture Bravo wants us to, and given the picture that the show has painted of Joyce so far, they definitely don’t want to see her suddenly as some nice, fun-loving character who avoids problems with Kandi or anyone else.
Still, she loves her, and Kandi is proving yet again that she is devoted to family. That’s why, in the end, we don’t mind the Joyce stories … so long as she keeps a little bit of distance.

Mama Joyce is never going to be happy until she breaks that marriage up. Kandi can go broke buying her houses and cars and everything else, but the thing Mama Joyce wants most is Todd out of the picture and it will happen, so I hope Kandi holds off on having that Baby because she will be raising it by herself, just like she did Riley.
