‘NCIS’ season 12 spoilers: First look at Jamie Bamber as Bishop’s husband Jake
On “NCIS” a week from Tuesday, we’re going to finally get a chance to learn a few things about a guy we’ve been hearing about for many months now, but never actually seen: Jake Bishop. We’re at least assuming that is his last name, since Ellie Bishop was married when she first joined the team.
What we know about the man for now is ultimately simple: He is an attorney, he is played by “Battlestar Galactica” actor Jamie Bamber, and the story in “Grounded” revolves around him, Ellie (Emily Wickersham), and Tony (Michael Weatherly) work together to solve a crisis at an airport right before Thanksgiving.
The photo above features Jake spending a little time with Gibbs (Mark Harmon), and we’ll give the producers a little credit here from the casting. They made Bamber come across a little more as the character we pictured Jake being, which is not what we first imagined when we originally heard that he was going to be a part of the show.
More than anything else, we hope that this character’s presence helps us to get a little more of an understanding as to who Ellie Bishop is as a character, and how she lives away from the NCIS office. This is something that we have come over time to learn about many of the other characters, though we have to say that we’d really like a little more backstory on Abby at this point, given that it’s been a while since we really had it.
Next week, “NCIS” returns with an episode that really works to highlight some of Gibbs’ heroism, and what he brings to the table to try to help a woman who is punished for doing the right thing.

@cartermatt – There’s something wrong with the Marisol Nichols spoiler. It isn’t working right and I don’t know if it’s like this for anyone else, but I haven’t been able to comment. Sorry – but I didn’t know any other way to tell you.
