ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: First details on big Jon Huertas episode ‘Kill Switch’
While Castle and Beckett are going to be very much involved in this story, it will be Javier who is stuck aboard a subway car with a number of other hostages. It will then be up to the other characters to get him to safety. Take a look at the synopsis below:
“When subway passengers, including Detective Esposito, are taken hostage by a mysterious gunman, Castle, Beckett and the team must uncover the gunman’s agenda before it’s too late.”
The first thing we feel in response to reading this is extremely sad for Esposito. How many terrible, life-or-death situations does this guy need to be in before the show ends? Remember here that it was less than a season ago where he and Ryan nearly died in a fire, and now, he is held hostage. If you add to this the fact that he is constantly in danger due to his profession, and you have a man who really needs a good life-insurance policy.
There are only two episodes of “Castle” this season coming after this one. One of those is going to give us the chance to dive into the world of action films, while the fall finale “Bad Santa” will introduce something big for Esposito’s relationship with Lanie. It’s going to be a big few weeks for this character!
One sign that “Kill Switch” is going to be a big episode? It was written by showrunner David Amann. When this happens, you can typically expect big things.

I believe the quick shot of a pregnant Lainie in “Time of Our Lives” is the foreshadow for the Esplainie couple and their relationship.
