‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 spoilers: Still, no romance for Norman Reedus’ Daryl
Speaking in a new interview today with Entertainment Weekly, comic writer / executive producer Robert Kirkman made it clear that romance will continue to be a theme, and this time, for more characters than ever before. However, that does not mean that one beloved character in Daryl (Norman Reedus) will be a part of it anytime soon:
“There’s certainly more couples. I wouldn’t say that the entire group is starting to pair off, but there’s been some hints. I think if you go back and watch season 4, you’ll see some indication as to relationships that are forming here and there. Sadly, I would say that Daryl’s situation remains somewhat ambiguous, or should I not say that?”
We understand those who want to see Daryl paired off, but there is a certain excitement and ambiguity with having him remain mysterious and unattached. Maybe this will change at some point before the end of the season, but the writers are in no hurry.
As for a different subject right now in one of Daryl’s possible love interests, Kirkman claims that Beth’s story will be taken on eventually on the show, but cautions that you should have a little patience with it. It does not seem for the time being that the powers that be are altogether keen on rushing into telling it, given that they also have Terminus, the road to Washington, and Carol to also deal with.
