‘Nashville’ season 3 spoilers: Derek Hough hypes up guest arc
While Derek Hough may be extremely busy at the moment as a pro on “Dancing with the Stars,” he is also trying his luck this fall at something that is extremely different: Acting: He will be making a series of appearances on “Nashville” season 3, and we have some of his first comments here about the role, and what he will be up to.
Writing in his latest TV Guide blog about the ballroom competition, Derek had the following to say about the irony of his part, and some of the specifics of the character:
“I’ll do a shameless plug for my guest arc on Nasvhille! My first episode is Wednesday. If you don’t know, I play Noah West, an actor who’s doing a Patsy Cline movie with Juliette, played by Hayden Panettiere. It’s hilarious because on the show, I’m supposed to be showing Juliette the acting ropes, but in real life, it was Hayden showing me the ropes. She was awesome — really sweet and supportive.”
Somehow, Hough has been able to manage this show (which admittedly started filming many weeks ago) with preparing for the ballroom competition with YouTube star Bethany Mota. She has been one of the most successful dancers so far this season, and when you think about both that and her sizable social-media following, you have to think that she is a major candidate to walk away with the coveted Mirrorball Trophy in the end.
The only thing that could hold her back there is an injury, but Derek claims that she is recovering from it.
What do you want to see from Derek on “Nashville,” and are you glad to see him branching out into some very different roles. Share some of your thoughts right now with a comment.

I thought Derek was good in his first episode. He is good looking. I’m hoping he is just as sweet in his next couple of episodes. Juliette could use a friendly face, instead of Avery’s unwashed , nasty look.
