‘NCIS: New Orleans’ episode 2 preview: Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette stop by
How are the folks over at CBS making sure that viewers flock to “NCIS: New Orleans”? The answer to that, at least for the time being, appears to be pretty simple: They just get a bunch of stars from the original series to also stop by!
The new episode airing on the network next week is entitled “Carrier,” and in order to help out the crew in the Big Easy, we are going to see both Michael Weatherly’s Tony and Pauley Perrette’s Abby make an appearance. Rocky Carroll, who plays Director Leon Vance, will also be showing up. What’s interesting about this particular appearance to us is that Carroll is also appearing on “NCIS: Los Angeles” soon, and will basically be doing a full lap across shows.
As for the specific case at hand, you can find out some more information in the attached synopsis:
“NCIS Special Agent Tony DiNozzo assists the New Orleans team when a Navy lieutenant on liberty dies of the bubonic plague. The team races to locate all additional sailors on liberty, control a potential outbreak and determine the source of the highly infectious disease.”
We’re hoping for entertainment, but the one other thing that we are hoping for this time around is something a little more natural. The premiere episode seemed to be trying way too hard for most of the hour to remind us that the show was set in New Orleans, and that was complete with references from start to finish about landmarks and popular Cajun food items.

I was very disappointed. The introductory episodes last year were better. This seemed so artificial. Artificially introducinga jazz player into the plot in order to give a NO feel. Artificially bringing Ducky over from NCIS for no good reason. A pretty poor investigation for a premiere about NCIS agents. I will watch a few more in hopes they will improve.
