Report: Kathy Griffin may take over for Joan Rivers on ‘Fashion Police’

E! Logo -Even though “Fashion Police” may not be appearing on E! until January 12, we may already be starting to find out a thing or two in the department of who will be the next host of the panel show following the sad death of Joan Rivers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, popular comedienne Kathy Griffin is the current favorite to take on the job, and this makes a whole lot of sense for a number of different reasons. The biggest one is just as simple as that she has a similar view on Hollywood glamour, and she has just as quick of a sense of humor. Kathy has also said many times that Joan was a personal hero, and this job would seemingly be right in her wheelhouse.

The only reason we could see Griffin turning down the role is if she currently enjoys what she currently does more, which includes the occasional TV gig coupled with a standup career that includes her performing all over the world. We have to admit that she was for us almost an acquired taste; we did not always care for her at first, but she completely won us over with her hilarious telecasts on CNN every New Year’s Eve.

The reason for the delay until January 12 is that the show wants to hold off until the start of awards season. This is the date of the Golden Globe Awards, and following that, you have the SAG Awards and of course the show considered in many ways to be the grandfather of them all: The Oscars. We’ll just have to see what happens moving forward to that date.
