NBC’s ‘The Voice’ preview: See Taylor Phelan’s ‘Sweater Weather’ audition

The Voice -Tonight at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, the second part of “The Voice’s” two-night premiere will happen. While you could just wait to watch Taylor Phelan’s audition on the show then, why would you? You can check it out right now below!

This is a guy who reminds us a little bit of James Wolpert from past seasons of the show, at least in that he has sort of a similar build and stage presence. The real difference between the two is that Taylor seems to be more of a guitarist, and he brings that instrument along for the ride while he struts around the stage. Adam Levine specifically refers to him as having “happy feet.”

Since all four coaches turn around for him (no surprise there, really, given that this seems to be the trend for this season), Taylor is going to have a choice of who he wants to work with … and we feel like everyone other than Blake Shelton has a real shot here. Adam brings a similar vibe to the table, while Gwen Stefani has the experience of being in a band for a good half of her life and knows the preparation that goes into that. Meanwhile, Pharrell Williams is just a musical guru, and has worked with almost everyone under the sun. He may not always be flashy, but he knows his stuff and he knows how to get people to perform to their fullest.

Of course, the choice of Taylor isn’t shown in the video, but you will have a chance to see that tonight.
