‘True Detective’ season 2 spoilers: Colin Farrell reportedly confirms casting
If you are to believe some new quotes that are coming out of Ireland, then there may be some big news to finally report in regards to “True Detective” season 2: At least one actor has finally confirmed their casting on the show!
Speaking per the Sunday World, Colin Farrell confirmed that he will be joining the HBO show, which has been rumored to be happening for quite a long time now. As for his role, it would be the troubled Ray Velcoro, who would of course have some ties to the police force, as the title suggests.
Supposedly, here is what Farrell had to say on the casting:
“I’m doing the second series. I’m so excited … I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five moths to shoot.”
This show is still in many ways a mystery, largely in that no one knows when it will actually begin shooting. The only thing we can confirm is that it is highly unlikely that it will start airing early next year. A more realistic estimate is that “True Detective” season 2 will premiere come June, in the timeslot that was traditionally occupied for many years by “True Blood.” That seems like a very good spot for the series to draw nice numbers, and for showrunner Nic Pizzolatto to ensure that he has the proper time to make this the show that we know it can be.
As for the other cast members, Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch are both seemingly close to confirmed for their roles, while the female lead is still relatively up in the air.
If these do turn out to be some of the “True Detective” castings, what do you think of them right now? Let us know in the comments.
