‘Under the Dome’ season 2, episode 12 preview: Barbie negotiates with Melanie

On Monday night’s new “Under the Dome” episode, we are going to see many more situations where Barbie faces the possibility of life and death … and may also need to use people from time to time as a bargaining chip.

On this particular occasion, that bargaining chip just so happens to go by the name of Melanie. In the sneak-peek video below, you can see Mike Vogel’s character, in a conversation with his father, do just about everything in his power in order to convince his dad that Melanie is still alive. He even carts out Joe and Norrie, plus some obligatory promotion for the latest Surface PC (this show and “The Following” are brothers-in-arms when it comes to this cross-promotion), in order to prove it to him.

Will this reveal change anything, and possibly get the egg back into the hands of our heroes? It’s possible, but we’ll never know for sure until the episode itself airs. What we do know is that we are setting up to have some of the most dramatic sequences that we’ve seen on the show to date. There are only two episodes left, so things are going to have to build very quickly in order for there to be a big payoff.

There is also one other question that we wonder right now: Whether or not the show will end things on a cliffhanger. Our perosnal feeling is that you renew the show, make season 3 the last one, and give it a proper ending. With this premise, there has to be a limited shelf life to keep it from getting stale.
