‘Masters of Sex’ season 2, episode 9 preview: Lizzy Caplan and a therapy session
On Sunday night’s “Masters of Sex” episode, Virginia Johnson is going to be doing her best to come to terms with her actions … and that includes her longtime affair with Dr. Bill Masters.
In the sneak peek video below, Virginia manages to see a psychiatrist under a fake name, and recounts a story that is vaguely similar to her own. Within this, you get a chance to hear about how Lizzy Caplan’s character tries to justify her personal decisions. Specifically, she tries to claim that she never considered her sleeping with Bill to be a threat to his marriage, mostly because she never had any intention of marrying him herself. With that in mind, she assumed that the affair was going to be strictly that, and there were not going to be any other ramifications for her actions at all.
Unfortunately, her getting closer and closer to Libby has helped her realize that this is not the case at all. By the time this episode ends, we expect her to make some sort of decision when it comes to how she wants to handle her relationship moving forward. We know where this story eventually goes (given that Virginia and Bill were together for a long time in real life), but we still have to wait to figure out how exactly the two of them get there.
We will of course have some further “Masters of Sex” news in the near future, including more coverage tomorrow night. Stay tuned for that
