‘The Bridge’ season 2, episode 9 review: Who died in brutal shootout?
Did you really think that Sonya Cross was going to die on “The Bridge” Wednesday night? We were fairly confident that the character would live to see another day, but we have to admit that we weren’t 100% certain that everyone else important would survive.
Well, those fears may have been justified by the final few minutes of the episode, and a brutal shootout that may have taken the lives of several important characters. It’s still hard to really figure out just what happened here, but we may have lost both Charlotte and Hank as collateral damage as Team Eleanor brutally took down the entire DEA plot to get her brought in. Just when it looked like Fausto Galvan was about to be decimated to a certain degree, we are still waiting to see what will truly happen next.
The only notable survivor of the group right now? Cesar, and of course Eleanor as she wandered around looking for people to kill who were still alive. By far, this was the bloodiest exchange in the history of the show, and we have to love the show for having the guts to go through with something like this.
Meanwhile, Marco found Sonya, and managed to ensure that nothing else happened to her … but even still, her doubts about his trust still crept in courtesy of how he was able to ensure that he found her. Marco plays this game a certain way, and by the time this episode ended, Sonya had to learn to accept that playing both sides can work.
Unfortunately, she may have to also accept that her longtime mentor is gone. Grade: A-.
