‘Better Call Saul’ spoilers: Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould talk ‘Jimmy McGill’ in clip

Better Call Saul season 1AMC may still have many months to go until “Better Call Saul” premieres in February, but the network is wasting little time at all when it comes to promoting this new experiment with Bob Odenkirk in the lead.

In the video below, you can see showrunners Vince Gilligan and Jimmy McGill sitting down to discuss this great character, and how the story of Saul is going to start off five years before we met him in “Breaking Bad.” He will be working under the name of Jimmy McGill, and there is a pretty interesting question in here that you have to raise: How much trouble did the guy get in to change his name in the first place? Saul Goodman is hardly a step up, but remember that McGill must have somehow been even worse.

This show is coming with an immense amount of hype and expectation, and Gilligan and Gould both seem to be very aware of that. After all, this is probably why the series in the first place was delayed as long as it was. It was originally scheduled to come out this fall, but the show fell behind early in production as the two parties worked to make sure that Saul’s story was exactly the story that they wanted to tell.

There are still many other nebulous discussion points when it comes to “Better Call Saul,” including whether or not the series is going to be able to tell Saul’s story after “Breaking Bad,” which is really what is of interest to us.
