‘True Blood’ series finale: Alexander Skarsgard on Eric Northman’s ending

In just one week’s time, we are going to be staring at the end of “True Blood.” Is it time to get nostalgic? Definitely. This show has been an institution on HBO for so many years now, and it will be hard to imagine summer without it.

One person who hasn’t spoken out much about this season, though, is Alexander Skarsgard, as he has been filming another project most of the summer and was not present at San Diego Comic-Con with the rest of the cast. However, don’t interpret this as a sign that he is not pleased at all with how the show has wrapped up. Speaking to Time Magazine while promoting his new movie “The Giver,” Skarsgard describes what it was like filming this final season, and the difficulty that came in particular to saying goodbye to his long-time scene partner:

I’ve been really happy with this whole season. To me, that’s Eric at his best, when he’s got one clear objective: revenge. When he’s that focused and determined, it’s so much fun to play that and hopefully watch as well. The fact that I’ve gotten to work with Kristin Bauer [van Straten] so much this season — I always miss her when we shoot seasons and we don’t get to work that much. It’s been great finishing this series side by side with Kristin. I really liked how we leave Eric at the end of this show. I’m very happy with it. Hopefully fans will be as well.”

Is there anything in particular that you want to see from Skarsgard’s Eric during the “True Blood” finale? Let us know in the comments.
