‘The View’: Watch Sherri Shepherd, Jenny McCarthy’s tearful goodbyes now
Thursday marked the final live airing for “The View” for Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy, and as you would expect, this ended up being a particularly teary-eyed affair. These two ladies have had a heck of a journey on the show, and they also were forced to handle the news that executive producer Bill Geddie was also going to be leaving after so many years with the program.
So in addition to sharing some of their own favorite moments on the show during the taping today, the two also spent some time saying good things about Geddie and the other producers on the show. Just take a look at what Jenny had to say:
“Bill Geddie, there really are no words. Working with you I can now say I’ve worked with the best in the business … To the incredibly hard working producers and crew, you’ve all taught me so much, you’ve been a shining example of professionalism, humility and class each and every day. You are all the real reason this show has been a staple [on television] for 17 years.”
While it has been confirmed that Rosie O’Donnell will be joining Whoopi Goldberg on the show starting in the fall, there’s no real word yet on who some of the other panelists are going to be. Bill Wolff from “The Rachel Maddow Show” is going to come on board as the new executive producer in the place of Geddie.
In the end, we’re not surprised by the major shake-up on “The View,” and what the show really needs to do right now is find the balance of being funny, but also bringing the drama where people are actually compelled to watch this versus Netflix or anything on their DVR.
