‘Under the Dome’ season 2, episode 7 video: A tunnel and a dust storm
There are a few consistent themes on “Under the Dome,” and one of the largest ones is simply that in this world, nothing ever seems to truly get better. Instead, it only worsens as time progresses.
In the video below, you can see what is the biggest threat that the residents of Chester’s Mill have faced to date: A dust storm. Why is this such a problem? It’s not so much for the lack of visibility as it is that whatever air pockets they have could be clogged, and eventually everyone could suffocate. There are few ways to die out there more painful than this, so we definitely do understand some of the concern.
In addition to this, though, the video emphasizes heavily that this tunnel underneath the town may be a possible way to escape. Given the scoop from Comic-Con that someone is going to find their way out of the dome by the time that this season ends, maybe this is the bridge that gets us from point A to point B.
However, at the same time we’re still (very understandably) worried about the fact that almost nothing with this show tends to end well. Therefore, we are already thinking that even if someone is able to escape, there are probably going to be some grim circumstances that go along with it. Death is an inevitability with this series, and the question is not if so much as when … and who in terms of who could end up losing their life.
