‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7 spoilers: ‘Glee’s’ Lea Michele snags minor role
While it looked yesterday like “Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter was punking us when he was teasing a major guest star appearing on the final season, it turns out that he may have been speaking the truth all along.
In a post on Twitter today, “Glee” star Lea Michele confirmed that she will be appearing in an episode of the FX series, which may be in part made possible by “Glee” starting filming a little late this fall. Sutter in turn joked that he was “working on the dance number.”
As for who Lea will play, TVLine claims that she will appear on the show’s October 14 episode in the role of Gertie, a waitress at a truck stop and a single mom who ends up getting close to Gemma (Katey Sagal) at a hard time in her life. Isn’t every time in Gemma’s life a hard time? We suppose that this is a different question for a different day.
There is already a distinct connection between “Sons of Anarchy” and “Glee” in Paris Barclay. The executive producer for the motorcycle drama frequent directs episodes of both shows, and if nothing else could have informed Sutter of Lea’s appreciation for the show. (She claims that it’s her favorite program on TV right now.)
This does mark the first appearance on an FX drama for the actress, who has also said in the past that she would love to be on another Ryan Murphy show in “American Horror Story.” After “Glee” finishes airing on Fox in 2015, we imagine that more of these offers will start coming her way.
