‘Glee’ season 6: Lea Michele will join ‘X Factor’ alum Fifth Harmony at Teen Choice Awards
The latest wave of presenters and performers for the 2014 Teen Choice Awards is expanding yet again, and this time around you are getting a few more people added to the roster with major connections to Fox.
The most notable one on the list right now is Lea Michele for many reasons. The “Glee” star has won many trophies here in the past, and this show also has an emotional connection to her. This was the site of her first public appearance following the death of Cory Monteith, and she poured out her heart during her acceptance speech.
Also joining Lea for the ceremony this year are “X Factor” alumni Fifth Harmony, Hilary Duff, Megan Fox, Kevin Hart, Colton Haynes, Josh Hutcherson, Sarah Hyland, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, The Band Perry and Nat Wolff. Former “X Factor” judge Demi Lovato is going to perform “Really Don’t Care” at the show alongside Cher Lloyd, while you will also see Rita Ora there to perform her new single “I Will Never Let You Down.”
It is almost bizarre the number of “X Factor” connections on this list, given that Cher was a successful act from the UK version of the show, while Rita has at least served as a guest judge on it. Maybe this is a sign of where music for this audience comes from, or it is just coincidence with the sort of acts that were available to perform and appear this year.
The 2014 TCAs are going to be hosted by “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Posey, and will take place in a few weeks on Sunday, August 10. Hopefully, some of these new presenters will lead to a spike in the ratings.
